I've been looking for something AWD (winter=2wd pwn) for quite some time, this weekend I'm taking a side trip to check out a 1997 or 1998 (The woman isn't sure) Explorer with the 5.0 engine and AWD. Usually I'm into Subaru's, but Exploders are cheaper and in my opinion easier to work on, since I'm used to RBVs. Plus I won't have to buy new snow tires, since I'll be able to use the ones I have for my Ranger AND the rims, correct?
Basically ANY information you have on them will be helpful. I'm looking for stuff that is common for these to have wrong with them, things that I should look for in terms of Value, and even a few posts about MPG (its a V8) would be helpful.
