I have the control trac in my 95 Xploder. I'm not too fond of the part time four wheel drive system. I want it to be "in" four wheel drive, not just when it needs it. I know I'd have to change the GEM module but will the connectors be the same at the 4WD switch? What else would I have to change?

Thanks

IT's possible to retrofit a MANUAL T-case into your Explorer. (See PM)

No cutting holes in the floor, SOME modification required to your
(likely considering it's an Eddie bauer) Full length console.

Being a 1995 makes it unlikely you'd need to search out the
Non-Rezeppa front driveshaft.

an additional irritation would be the likelihood that your
auto transmission will lack the proper mounting pillars
for installing the manual shifter, however we could rob
the extension housing off of a junkyard A4LD (It bolts right up)
and give you mounting pillars.

There is nothing here that I didn't say in the PM, but this is for
the benefit of others and lurkers.

Received your PM b4 reading this. Sent PM back and Thanks! For informational purposes: I do have the full length console and the double cardan joint. Next issue is how to lock in the front diff. The way it works now is the 4WD switch sends a signal to the relay to open an acuator to pull vaccuum down to the sevro on the front diff to move the fork therefore locking in the axles. Unless you, Allan, or someone else has already done this I think it may be quite the project. Doable but a project for sure.
