95-01 Explorer bumper on 93-97 Ranger?

The title pretty much says it all... has anybody done it? Its something Im really interested in doing since my bumper is all dented up and crap.
 
From what I have researched..and questions I have asked. It should be a direct bolt on. I plan on installing a Mountainner bumper w/Fog lights as soon as I finish installing my 5.0
 
From my understanding the frames are different. It's just the same as trying to bolt a 99 Ranger bumper to the front of a 93-97. Plus what about the gaps between the grille area & the bumper? I look at the 2 trucks and they appear different? You can probably get it to fit with some welding & such.
 
Im not afraid of a little bit of modifying. Especially since the modifications would be done to the metal bumper behind the cover. As far as gaps and such, I dont think it will look bad. I dont know how to photoshop, but I managed to put the explorer bumper on the ranger with MSPaint, and I think it will look sweet.
 
Mind if I use your thread?

1993 Explorer brush guard on a 1993 Ranger? Any ideas if THAT would work? I can get one cheap.

I dont mind dude. Seems to me making it fit shouldnt be too hard, but if you have to do some fab work, it can all be hidden under and behind the bumper!

that looks really nice!! it would look nice even on my 99! have u taken a look at the ranger edge bumper?? looks more agressive than this one, im planning to get me one for my truck.
hope to see that custom bumper setup soon!!
 
I knew you were talking to Koda. No worries.

I never thought about the edge bumper, but Im probably going to have a hard enough time finding an Explorer bumper cover around here for a decent price. If not, the edge bumper may be a thought as well.

It looks like it may fit well if the lower valance is removed from the front of the 93-97. Otherwise, it may make the front look too tall.

I think it will look great with a billet insert and a custom-made phantom grille.

hey jonx4x4 where did you find the phantom grill for the ranger and what year to be exact is that expo bumper from i have a 93 and i been looking at everkind of front bumper from a frontier to yota bumpers for the front of my 93
 
99 and up for the 05, 2WD and 4x4, 4x4 are better cuz the have the fog light holes
 
That Bumper looks Good...
