So I've had problems off and on with my BII since I got it. Sometimes on short trips(like five to ten minutes) if I turn it off, or it dies, it will not start for about twenty minutes, whether I crank it over or not. And it will back-fire frequently also during this period if I try to start it. Sometimes it will start and run badly, and will back fire. other times it starts and runs like a champ, although the last few times I've driven it, it ran pretty rough. It acts like it's kind of missing, and stumbles on acceleration.

I have rebuilt the carb. Checked the vacuum lines. Installed a new cap and rotor.

I'm wondering where to start next.

Check your TFI module. Your describing what my dads truck was doing before the TFI module went out.

Ya its attached to the distributor....good luck getting it off, my dad and i had to get a dremal tool to ream out the screw holes on the old TFI to get the screws out then went to rural king to get new screws for the new TFI module that have a philips heads on them so we can get the screws in or out with a screw driver instead of a socket.

The sell an inexpensive tool to remove the bolts securing the TFI module.

The TFI was one of the first things I had to replace on my B2 very simple to do actually. I got a special tool at Knechts for like 6 bucks and was actually able to use the tool and just my fingers to loosen it up and tighten it back down again. The TFI was only like 40 bucks at Knechts also.

HAHA You are so close to me we should get together and fix our damn trucks LOL.
