Which Receiver Hitch?

I need to get a reciever hitch for my 2003 ranger 4x4. Is there a certain brand that fits better? I want one that fits nice and tight right under the bumper. Also, is removal of the spare required?
 
I put a Curt Hitch on my '01 Mazda. It fit ok but did interfere a bit with some on the bolts on the weird Mazda verson rear bumper. I wouldn't expect issues on a Ranger.

I did have to lower the tire to mount the hitch. Then when raising it back up, the tire does have to move about an forward from where it was when I started. Plenty of room though. My tires are 235/75/15.
