Hi all, lets set up a meet for Massachusetts!

TRAIL RIDE INFO

-May 2nd 2009
-Meet at 10am, leave for trail by 1030
-Meet at Brians place, it a gas station on rt# 140 N (Gardner Rd.) about 5 miles off rt#2 on the left in Ashburnham

-Stock 4x4 capable.
-Front and rear tow points preferred (receiver hitch works as tow point)
-NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL BE PERMITTED
-Bring lunch/snacks and water/drinks for time out on trails

lets track down some guys, and work out a game plan. I'd like to wheel with some other rangers, if it winds up that theres a bunch of street trucks, that may not be the route to go. Any good wheeling spots around you? I'm on 31 AT's and a rr LS, before the question gets asked. I'm a pussy when it comes to deep holes too, hydrolocking is my worst nightmare.

I have a buddy from Rutland or Oakham, cant remeber which. I gotta go down there soon to see him, so your area would be good for me.

Where are you MetalMcGyver? I wanna check out your truck some time! And Compleckz's!

i just got into wheelin so i dont know of any spots around me. i live in paxton just outside of worcester and rutland/oakham area. i dont mind travellin though if someone knows a place to wheel. i am runnin 31 as well. i have about a 3" lift on my truck. but yeah lets definately meet up and all hang out at least i want to see some other rangers.

let me see if i can make some calls and find someone to lead the trails in winchendon. They are stock friendly trails as it seems most people are stockish looking for a nice day out.

Andover, nice to see another ranger guy in the neighborhood.

I have a spot up here, in Salisbury. A good sized pit, with some mud, some good little climbs, and some rocks to play on, as well as some trails. It's nice because it has a wide range of stuff to wheel, from mild to some sketchy stuff.

TireIron, looking at your pics from your sig, winchendon looks fun. Whys the ranger getting towed in half of the pics?

its getting pulled in most of those because it was only 2WD at that point. i've only had 4x4 since october. If you look at the pics from the Gutter thats what can be done with 4x4 hehe.

looking at google maps, Asburnham and winchendon are pretty close together. Maybe we can hit both. Maybe a saturday asburnham, sunday winchendon trip, or pile both into one day? How much is there to wheel at each spot, like time wise?

Worcester area seems to be coming together, with 3 members and two trails out that way.

That tow strap must've been your best friend till your SAS got done. I had only 2 wheel for like a year, and it sucked.

I'm not familiar with the area so much. I can read a map i'll get there. I'm gonna try to come out on friday night then meet up and wheel on saturday. Nobody with a street truck has posted yet. I have to make my insurance payment mid-week, so a weekend within the next month is what i'm looking to do. I'll work with the rest you.

edit:upon reading "street truck" mine is pretty much one minus tires and manual hubs.

If I wind up going to my buddies' place I'd be inclined to meet around Paxton or Oakham a lil earlier and shoot up there together, If it doesn't work out with him, and I drive in that morning I'd say meet somewhere close to the trails.

Is it that important to have the tow hooks? I don't have any..if it is a big deal I will not go. I don't want to get stuck so far from home.

Well, without tow hooks, your gonna be crawling under the truck to hook up if you get stuck. I'm bringing a chain, strap, and highlift. Winches anybody?

tow hooks are not mandatory.. but like noted. you will be crawling under if need be..lol and NO BOOZE AT ALL>>>>i`m mite be jinxing us but a winch should not be needed

Tow hooks are recommended. However we can get the job done without them. I have a good assortment of recovery gear but everyone should bring what they have.

if it's the truck in your signature than you should be able to make it. I did it before I had 4wd in my truck and you just have to get pulled every now and then. Your truck has a bit more lift and larger tires then when I was 2wd so you may have an easier time at it. It shouldn't be a problem especially if you have front and rear tow points.

Well that makes me feel better. Where would be a good place to mount hooks? I don't have receiver hitch or anything like that. Could I just mount a ball to my bumper? I have a body lift but have not raised my rear bumper yet. Any ideas?

not sure i have stock tow hooks in the front and a receiver hitch in the rear. why dont you put on a reciever hitch

The only "legal" place to go around there is to the powerlines, the sandpit area is no longer legal....

I saw screw that, drive to the gutter and hit up our show on the way through.

eh you can do all but the rock face by the river in 2wd pretty much, and you don't even have to do that section if you don't want too.

No worries though, i need to do a little work on big red to make her wheelable again, 4 weekends in a row took its toll......and a window haha, but i'd be down to meet up with you guys at the next wheeling event you have.

yeah i just mapquested it. its about 45 min but i think i know a quicker way there. i 31 swampers i cranked my torsion bars about 3" and put new shackles in the rear that raised it about 2". i just installed a black billet grill and grill guard with two 100watt lights on the guard. i want to put on a 3" body lift i am hoping to do that this summer. what have you got done to your ranger

Blue LED Gauges and stuff other small interior mods
Oh and i have hella 500s but i gave up wiring them. i keep blowing the damn glass fuse so they are there for looks lol kinda pissed cuz i also bought light tabs for them. grr

i prob missed some stuff but you'll see it on may 2nd lol

i hope i can get my exhaust raised by then. since the body lift, i haven't gotten it raised and the place also owes me new tips cuz they f'ed up and the tard welded the hangers on the TIPS not on the pipe itself. boo
im glad i ended up getting the warranty because my hangers have let go like 3 times and this last time, it ripped a chunk of the tip off with it i was not very happy haha

yeah the handheld radios are FM CB's are AM so it wont work unless everyone has FM handhelds.. I have a CB, so does Dan (fullytwisted).. the FM ones suck in the woods, CB's are better if they are set up right, but regardless once we hit the power lines our range is gona be less than line of sight maybe 50 yards...

As long as the weather holds out there should be a LOT, like several hundered very nice cars and trucks showing up. We are a bunch of kids from Umass we know how to have fun reguardless.

Big reds fuel filter shit the bed on me tonight, but a i'll be hitting up autozone in the AM to get that fixed then win the RTI contest :thefinger: My bagged truck go broken into the other week, and is in the shop getting fixed, so it won't be making an appearce, but whatever.

yeah that water looked pretty deep would my truck be ok. i have the torsion bars cranked all the way and 2" lift shackles in the rear. i also have rancho nitro shocks not sure if they add to the lift though. i am running 31" swampers as well.

put it this way , a stock 94 4x4 with no lift went through it with no problem at all .. the bottom is solid , and there is a go around...lol for the ones that are affraid.... everyone in our group went through, even a quad...

lol yeah you guys will be fine through that. My exhaust (i have duals coming out the back) both pipes were under water haha i just kept on the gas lightly and was fine no problems at all. i was stopped in the middle of the water because dan was talking to guys on dirtbikes and i was the 3rd truck back haha

i need to go to a junkyard without aholes and pick up a rear hitch for my truck. the one near me kinda sucks...there are some pricks there but also nice guys..usually i end up dealing with the jerks so i gotta find another yard to hit up.
