Coolant leaking inside the cab...

So when you fix one problem, another one shows up. Here in Colorado, this is the time when it gets freezing. I blast the heater for a while and I start to smell coolant and my windows fog up. I look down and on the passenger side there is a nice puddle of steaming coolant. Does anybody know what it might be, before I tear the dash out?

either the heater core is cracked or the clamp the holds the line got loose

Heater core. Check Lines and heater core. Shouldn't be that hard to get to.

Thanks guys! yeah its on my 88' BII. I picked up a Chilton book for the truck and if my knowledge serves me right, It's just 2 hoses that connect to the heater core and five small screws to get to it. I was thinkin I had to tear my dash apart, guess not :no2: . Anybody know what a heater core might run me new or used?

New one should be about $20.00. Might want to replace the hoses that cpme from the engine to the core. They should only run about $3.00 more. Should be an easy fix.

Thank the Lord it's not the 95 up Ranger cause the whole dash has to be moved! That's why I was asking. Yours is pretty straight forward. Good luck!

Thanks Guys! I replaced the core last night and so far all works well. Now I just need to get that coolant out of the carpet lol. Oh and i found a buck in change that must have fell through the defrost vents HA cha ching!
