I bought a Haynes book for my 1977 f150 about a month ago. Then I bought a 1979 f150 last week and the guy also gave me a Haynes book for the truck too. It was yellow and kinda big so I dismissed it as older and got wet at some point. So I thought I had two of the same thing right? WRONG. :annoyed:The older book from 2000 I think had way more pictures and information than mine from 2004 which was thinner and doesn't some of the information that the OLDER book has.

So why would Haynes subtract information from a technical book instead of add to it. This just doesn't make sense.

Has anyone else happen to notice this? :icon_confused:

I noticed that all Haynes and CHiltons suck. I buy the factory ones--off Ebay on older vehicles and from Helminc.com when I can't find them. I have the factory books on everything from my lawn mower to my International 3800 schoolbus.

It probably comes down to money. Depending on vehicle there might not be as much sales volume as there once was.

And I have found that more people are inclinded to have other people do the work so they don't bother with buying a manual.

And yes I have noticed that they get thinner and thinner as the vehicle gets older and less and less of them are old.
