Hi There:
I have a 05 ranger a/t,4x4,4dr,4.0l sohc standard 16x7 wheels & tires, with 6200 miles on the clock. Its a one owner came into Manheim auto auction from Minnesota.Bought it at Phillips ford in Manheim.Yesterday morning truck started ok, while backing out & turning the s/wheel to the left I heard a groaning noise coming from the right front wheel.I then drove into town no noise.Three weeks ago( while I was applying rubber under coating to the very rusty under carriage)I found a right lower outer ball joint rubber torn. When I put my finger in that boot there should have been a little sign of grease left but there wasn't any. I had it replaced by the dealer & the alignment done.No problem, no pulling.Later on yesterday in the evening we had about 1/2" of snow. I made a couple of panic stops in 4h before getting out into traffic.I slid about 15 or 20ft.The brake pedal was pulsating & I heard a motor noise going from a low to high speed repeatedly at the same time the pedal was pulsating.(Releasing the brake pedal stopped both problems.) This motor noise was coming from the rear of the truck. I took the truck out of 4w drive & no change, no warning lights came on in either case.Any way we went to get groceries in 4h & the brakes worked ok with light pressure & a little bit of a slide when coming to a stop at red light or another car.The streets were slick as the salt crews were not out at the time.
Thanks for any assistance provided as my 3 month warrenty is going to run out on dec16th. I have the 6yr. 100k p/train warrenty but I think that does not cover the brake system.
