plugs and wires are good for 100,000 miles. you should also replace your PCV valve at that time.
i usually do fuel filters at 30k. air filters as needed.

the filter might be part of your starting problem. its a place to start anyway.
the PCV valve is a little one-way metering valve stuck in the valve cover. use ONLY motorcraft replacement for this peice, as aftermarket valves are usually mis-metered. if you get a new one, you should be able to find the old one and replace it...its pretty self explanitory.

do plugs, wires, and PCV at the same time, around 100k.

if you have any warranty left, take it in.
something like that your probably just going to have to fork over the $80 at a dealership for them to hook up the computer and see whats preventing it from starting while warm.

I had starting issues with my 05. I still had warranty left on it, so I took it to the dealer. There was a service bulletin about the hard starting and they reflashed or reprogrammed the computer. Whatever you call it. Anyhow, that tool care of my problem.
