i bought this winch from harbor freight (cuz i am cheap) and the controller it really short. It would be nice to have a wireless controller so that i can guide the car up on the trailer without being limited by wires. Is this even possible with this kind of winch? It has 2 posts comming out of the end of the winch if that makes any difference.

My credo
If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.

I just recently bought one of these for my 3000lb winch:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/8000lb-Recovery-Winch-8000-lb-Wireless-Remote-Kit-VZ_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategoryZ43984QQihZ027QQitemZ400000818107QQtcZphoto

The solenoids used in it are pretty heavy duty, I tested it out to see how much range I would get out of it and it was working up until almost 100ft away. You can wire it right into your winch and the box has an external connector on it for using a manual controller if you wanted to.

If it's a 2000 lb. winch I hope it's going on an ATV.
