What is this thing in my transmission, I don't know a whole lot about transmissions and was taking off my bellhousing, little did I know it sealed off the front of this thing, would I have screwed up anything by pulling the bellhousing off? I didn't reef on anything, and what the heck is that round thing in the picture with the three bolts and all the holes in between, it is in the center of my transmission and the shaft goes into it, i pulled on it a little bit, and it wiggled out, so I pushed it back in and it clicked into place, and then i plaged with it a little bit, it would spin one way, but not the other, is there anything I could have geeked up, I put it back together so hopefully nothing was messed up, oh btw it is an a4ld trans.

did i hurt anything or no?(assumming I just took it apart)

Well I don't know what will is talking about but it looks like some sort of Hyper Active Spinning thing. (Tooo bad though you only got the monodirectional spinner, not the Multidirectional spinner):icon_rofl:

or its just a NUke inder your truck set to go off when it pops into fifth.:stirthepot::shok:

JK

Wills answer I agree with.:D

( cough ) O/D BAND and coast clutch ( cough )

:stirthepot:

Anyway, looks OK. If in doubt, SLIGHTLY pull up on the drum ( 1/16 - 1/8 " ) and drop it back down.( assuming the trans is standing on it's tail ). Should hear a solid THUNK.

Also, see the sun gear ?? There is a adapter plate that splines it and has teeth that engage the coast drum. Have a look and make sure its fully engaged the drum.
