I'm working on my budget build. This truck will be road driven mostly, and a weekend wheeler.

I need/want these lights for driving the backroads from my dads, and possible night time wheeling situations.

My qustion is, where to mount? The Hella 500's are a pretty slim light.

1993 Ranger, Stock bumper, 2 Hella 500 lights.

I have a few ideas, but not sure.

1). Mount on bumper in front of grill.
2). Mount behind grill. I'd be worried about the grill blocking the beam.
3). Take out grill and mount.....not the best looking.

Concerned about melting things and getting a good beam outa these lights.

dont mount the lights behind the grill...the beams get blocked and all kinds of rocks and stuff go in there and hit the lights...plus the lights get hot which makes that part of the grill hot and melt a lil bit

Foglights work best mounted low.

Driving lights at headlamp hight

"Offroad" lights as high as possible.

If you are mounting them on a b3000 then weld some mounts onto the steel that wraps around the bumper.
