Ok I am looking for a lift kit for my 93' Ranger. I want to run a 32" tire. Therefore which kit would be better suited to my application??? I want road performance( good on road manners) with better ocasional offroad performance. I will be getting stage three with extended radius arms either way. How big a difference in flex, etc. would there be between the two??? I want to avoid a body lift if i can. I think the 3in would be best for me but I want to hear others opinoins.... Thanks
Also would the superunner steering kit be a good idea to run with either of these kits?

3" is a body lift. What you want is a 4" suspension lift. The 5.5 will work just fine. Any suspension lift On a ttb Ranger is a huge improvement over stock. If you keep the sway bar it will handle as good as stock but, you will lose offroadability. Even with the sway bar the suspension lift will make it a much better truck.
With the 4" lift you don't need the superrunner steering. On the 5.5 it is just a little better.

Yeah, the Duff lift is 3" or 5.5". Everyone else's are 4" & 6".
For 32" tires 3" is plenty and if on-road right is most important to you then the less lift the better.
You might want to consider a 3" BL and removing the sway bars. It might be the best and cheapest solution for you.

I dunno, when Burnside was running the 3" Duff lift, he could get his 31's to rub off-road, I would think 32's, especially on aftermarket rims with less backspacing, the rubbing would be more likely. Any particular reason you are only looking at Duff?

Yeah... I had done my research and found that duff would be a really good kit for me. I just can't decide on 3 or 5.5.... I'd be running a 3.0 with 4.10's...I don't want to regear, so I figured a 31 or 32 tire would be best for the gearing. This truck is a DD and I want it to look good and still have a good street ride, but be able to hit some trails(dirt, a little mud, etc.) every other weekend, and even perform a little better in snow.
Blackdog....what size of tires do you run???

Isn't Bursnide's a first gen model?
I have 31s stock on a 96 with no rubbing. His is a 93, I think that makes them in the same generation. They made the wheel wells bigger I guess.
perform a little better in snow
If you mean on pavement, thats going to be entirely a function of the tire tread.

FWIW, I have a six inch skyjacker class II w/ 33s on my 97 and on the street its fine but if I go offroad I can make them rub. So I would have to say go withe the 5.5. Plus one day you will want more lift, everyone does.

if you like to drive your truck fast and you have curvey roads i'de stick with the 3".you won't need steering correction and it will handle much better in rain and snow.32's barely rubbed on my truck(its a 1st gen yours has larger wheel openings) on stock wheels when totally flexed out.with the duff arms you can go to a larger lift later by swapping axle pivot brackets, springs, and shocks in front.the duff kits use the same leaf pack so you would just put in the stock blocks in the rear to get the taller lift.you'll need a drop pitman arm or superrunner kit with more lift.:icon_thumby:

My truck is driven on the road a lot.... Basically the only time I drive it off road is when I go camping, or just playing around out in the country or in the snow, etc. I wanted a lot better stance... I hate the nose down look I have and it really noticeable on a reg. cab short box. I really think the 3in will level out my truck like I want and give me a nicer ride plus better offroad capability with the longer radius arms. I think 31 or 32 tire would be ok. Thanks for everybody's help and opinions.

The JD 3" kit will recreate the nose rake at three inches higher up. It did on my BII anyway and everyone else I've heard install it too. You might want to get a Stage 2 kit and add 1" shackles in the rear if you want to eliminate it.
