I have the DANA 28 on a 87 ford ranger. There is a bad rattle coming from the right front side. I believe its bushings on I think is a crossbar. There is a horse shoe type bar that connects from one radius arm across the frame to the other radius arm. There looks to be 4 bushings. I need to know what the part is really called and where to get the parts,. :icon_confused:

The rad arm cross member should not be the issue. The radius arm bushings may be. The bushings should be available from pretty much any parts store.

The Rad Arm Cross member the bushings on the ends look pretty bad. The bushings on the Rad Arms still look really good!

Radius arm crossmebers DO go bad. Ask me how I know... :/ I broke both sides of mine where the bushings go on ( the little flange snaps ) I found new ones from a Company called AutoMann but they were discontinued last year and I sold my new ones when I did my long travel setup

I'm confused then. The cross member is riveted to the frame.

That year would have had the front sway bar running under the cross member, and that has some bushings on it though.

At this point I guess I have to declare :worthless:.

Can't wait to see the pics...my guess is you first described the sway bar...or what I always thought was a sway bar...a horseshoe shaped bar about an inch thick that goes between the two radius arms...I did not have one on my first Ranger and when I saw it I remember reading a thread where it was being discussed a few years ago...

Pics would help for sure...

I'm thinking sway bar... I don't know what years had the weird sway bar like that... If it's d28 parts I have one in my front yard I'm about to scrap, I just don't have the sway bar as it's still on my b2 and was in front of the axle.
