I am about to put a new clutch in my 99 expo 4x4 and had a few questions about the clutch to get. The local parts store has a clutch for the truck for about $180 while doing more research I found a clutch kit on ebay for $87. This clutch kit includes:
This complete clutch kit includes:
Brand new A-E HD Pressure Plate ( Non-Self Adjusting _HD Option )
Brand new A-E HD Full Woven Clutch Disc (10-1/8", 23 spline)
Brand new A-E Release Bearing
Brand new A-E Pilot Bearing
Alignment Tool
Anyone know if this is what I am looking for. Manual trans are not easy to find in these things so getting information on them is just as hard. The questions are with the Pressure Plate and the Clutch disc. Is a Non-self adjusting pressure plate what I need and is that the right specs for the clutch disc?
I found this clutch at advance and a friend of mine said he would give me my "former" employee discount so the price of the clutch is only $89. Here is the specs for the advance clutch:
Alignment Tool Included:Yes
Clutch Disc Diameter:7.5 in
Clutch Disc Type: Dampened
Counterweight Assist:No
Disc Diameter:7.5 in
Disc Material:Organic
Flywheel Included:No
Hardware Included:No
Input Shaft Diameter:.8125 in
Input Spline Quantity:19
Pilot Bushing Included:No
Pressure Plate Typeiaphragm
Release Bearing Included:Yes
I am not familiar with clutches so this is going to be a learning experience for me. I tried posting this on another explorer forum but got no response so I was hoping yall could help me out. I don't have the truck locally and I would like to have the clutch with me so I can do it all in one days work or maybe two. If it was more convenient for me to get to the truck I would have removed the clutch already and checked it but I guess if yall can't help me I'll have to do that. Thanks for the help!
