Where can I buy the small O-ring that sits on top the bellhousing where the clutch master hose attaches to the slave cylinder?? Mine is not the side quick disconnect like the newer Rangers. My hose is held in by a clip on the top of the slave cylinder--the O-ring sits inside the top of the slave cylinder.

Run to any parts store, or any dealership parts counter with the old one and look. Most places keep a supply of just basic o-rings around.

I have not worked on that in years so i cant picture it in my mind but any autoparts store should have an assortment of o-rings, if you have the old one it would be a plus.

Nope--wrong answer ---any old O-ring won't do, it has to be the correct inside diameter and the correct hardness as it has to compress somewhat easily yet hold it's shape against fluid pressure. I might try ford.

If you knew this already, why are you taking up space on here? Hope you find the part you need and taking the old one with you (like i said already!) would be a plus. Meaning that the auto parts store could help you get the right part! LOL

I think I know what you mean. When I replaced my slave cyl, the new one had no ring. Went back to parts store and they took one out of another cylinder box. Think the F150s used the same ring. May have to buy a new slave cylinder.

You should be replacing the slave anyway.

Just watch the o-ring material. Some compounds don't like some fluids. Parker O-Ring catalog is a wealth of information.

I would use rubber bands just wrap it around a few times tell its the right size. May need to use a lil wad of bubble gum also I find bubble um to work best. Hope this helps. This is what I would do if I didnt do what everyone else and the ford tech said just go to a parts house and match it up.
