Just yesterday noticed a grinding sound in the DS front side of my truck. I put in 4wd and it goes away, take it out and it comes back. Fortunately I've got an icy roadway back and forth to work so it won't hurt it to run 4wd. It almost sounds like a bicycle chain that won't quite derail to shift properly, like crank, crank, crank. I slid under it and there's no excessive slack in the driveline. Diff fluid is at a normal level. Off the top of my head, I suspect the spindle bearing. What do you guys think? I need to diagnose it this evening. Thanks!
