On the trip back to where I lived, the transmission slipped a handful of times, and pretty good too. With 160 miles to go in my trip, a casual visit down south was turning into what would appear to soon be a nightmare. Just what I needed, an impending failure 100 miles from home, and roughly 160 miles from my destination.

Today, I took it to the dealership, and boy let me tell you somethin! They sure know how to fix up a transmission!

Tranny woes

Sorry.....I thought this was a post about a very, very, very bad date last nite....

and....you own a chevy too?

Wasn't pleased with how ford has handled warranty work. Not a fan of the issues with the 5.0 in the new fords. Many consume oil, ford has been ignoring the problem.

To be honest, I'm not thrilled with how Ford is handling all of their warranty work. Ask people whom have problems in their Mustangs and F150s. And to top it all off, if I EVER need service, there is almost a guarantee that a free loaner is waiting for me. I have never gotten that service out of the Ford dealerships up here. So yes, I own a Chevy, again.

I suppose it is due time for the "I've never had a problem with..." and tech's "I've never heard of those problems" replies to surface...

Do note that Ford considers 1 quart per 1000 miles to be normal.
