Trans troubles(video)

I have a 1999 ranger with a 4.0 and a auto. I broke the trans in a tough truck competition. I landed WOT on the first jump and lost first gear. I now need a new trans. What are the year range's of transmissions that will work and is there anything I can have done to it to beef it up.

looks like thats not all you broke! any sohc auto trans should work. though im sure somebody will chime up and confirm. and yes, you can have them built. or you can take your foot out of it when landing!

It should be a 5R55E.

According to hollander interchange:
For 2wd:
Its a 99-00 Mazda/Ranger 4.0 2WD

doesn't the 5 in 5r55e mean that it is a 5spd? Mine is only a 4.

I think your transmission should be listed on your door jam sticker.

My truck isn't a SOHC truck, it is a cam on block OHV
