the other day i was going through some deeper puddles and my engine was bogging real bad because i had lost the part of my exhaust from the muffler back, i was wondering if i cut a whole in my bed and made the exhaust come up like stacks on a diesel, but i would use smaller size pipe so my back pressure would be ok, is this a bad idea?

Nice portrait their buddy!! Yeah it sounds cool i believe it would be fine, on the way to work i see this older model ( earlier 90's) ranger 2wd with a HUGE single chrome pipe sticking outa the bed behind the cab..That thang has to be like 8" diameter...Looks really stupid because the truck is soooo small..But i beleive that'll work for under water/mud use paired with a snorkal maybe??

i seriously doubt the truck was bogging due to the exhaust being submerged. ive driven through water over the exhaust on many occasions and its never effected my power noticeably. i would be much more concerned about your trucks very low factory intake than i would the exhaust.

plus stacks on pickups just look dumb.

Stacks on a pickup = sister-humpin' redneck. The exhaust pressure is more than sufficient to push the water out.

+1 to Wicked Sludge. That factory intake is the weak water link.

+1 again. The only difference I notice when the exhaust is submerged is the tone.
