I've got a 86 Ranger 4x4 2.9 Five Speed. Other than wiring and plumbing, will a 4.0 SOHC still drop on to my motor mounts like an overhead valve? What about the transfer case? Will my BW1350 bolt up to a newer 5 speed trans? Can I use a BW1356 work with my manual hubs?
 
1350 will bolt up and i dont see why you could not use the 2.9 motor mounts....but you may need the plate that bolts to the block from a 4.0 ohv from a ttb suspension
