steering noise

Any ideas about this? or is it normal?

..new to 4x4's here. : )

Truck: 2004 Ranger Supercab 4door 4.0L 4x4

When I have the wheel turned all the way to the lock and back up, (worse turned to the right, but still there the other way) I can hear...not necessarily a "clunk," but sounds that are clunk-like and somewhat continuous as I back up.. definitely coming from the front suspension/front wheels.

Is this normal for a 4X4?

Everything else about the front end is peachy. All 4WD functions are fine.

i have a 2002 supcab 4-door 4.0 4x4. and i dont think mine does that. it sounds like it might be ur cv axles r going out. i had honda civic (front wheel drive) after a few years evertime turned i heard a clicking sound. i know my ranger has cv axles up front. hope that helped.
